My sweet, beautiful, joy-bringing Baby Girl is one year old today!
Born at 12:39am, her birth was the most difficult and life-changing event of my life, so far. WORTH IT.
I’ve tried to keep this as PG as possible (all pics are appropriate, FYI!) but if birth makes you squeamish… feel free to scroll down quickly to some of those yummy recipes down below!
For those of you who are interested: Here is Maren’s Home Birth Story. One year ago today.
Maren Ree was born Tuesday July 24th, 2012 at 12:39am. Weighing 6lbs 8oz and just 18.5inches long.
I want to bake.
I want to create… comforting, satisfying, buttery, sweet, delicious, homemade treats.
I want cinnamon rolls and fresh bread in my kitchen and pies cooling on my counter. I want cookies in my freezer and brownies in the oven and dinner simmering on the stove.
I want to eat and not feel guilt. I want to serve and not feel like an enabler, or a ‘pusher’.
I want to enjoy food as much as I used to. Before I decided to try and live ‘healthier’. Before my waistline made me stop and think twice about everything.
I’m trying to find balance right now.
I am trying to find a place where I can cook and bake and enjoy the creativity I love in the kitchen, and yet, at the same time nourish myself and my family beyond just our tastebuds.
I want to enjoy my food and at the same time, enjoy my life.
Why does that have to be so hard??
