Welcome! If you followed a note from the Sweet Anna's homepage, you are in the right place. This is a fresh kitchen guide for turning pantry basics into calm weeknight dinners, written in the same spirit as the older posts you still search for here.
I still think in terms of real food, a full fridge when we can swing it, and one or two nights where the plan is allowed to be simple. That is where a pantry plan earns its keep.

Start with three anchors
Pick three dinner styles you already repeat, then rotate them. Mine often look like this: a soup or stew night, a sheet-pan or skillet night, and a breakfast-for-dinner or pizza-style night. When each style has a default ingredient list, grocery trips shrink and kids know what to expect.
Pantry building blocks that cover most recipes
Keep dry pasta, rice, canned tomatoes, beans, broth or bouillon, onions, garlic, olive oil, salt, and a favorite all-purpose seasoning blend. Add one or two proteins in the freezer (chicken thighs, ground beef, or a meatless option you like) plus cheese if your household eats it. With that base you can hit dozens of recipes in the Sweet Anna's recipe index without a full cart every week.
Five quick moves on a tired Tuesday
1. Pasta plus canned tomatoes, garlic, and olive oil, finished with cheese or beans.
2. Rice bowls: warm rice, whatever vegetable is in the crisper, and a fried egg or leftover protein.
3. Soup from broth, a starch, and frozen vegetables, simmered while you set the table.
4. Sheet-pan sausages or tofu with chopped potatoes and carrots, salt, pepper, and a little oil.
5. Waffle or pita pizzas using sauce from the pantry and toppings you already have. Our kids still ask for the quick and easy whole wheat waffle pizzas when we need a win.
Make it yours
Write your three anchors on paper and tape it inside the cupboard. When you try a keeper from the archives, circle the date on the list so you remember to repeat it. If you want more of the story behind this blog, visit the About page. Questions about working together or media still belong on the Contact page.
Happy cooking, and thank you for keeping these recipes in rotation.
