Oh my. This pizza is almost too much. Almost.
But also… just enough and perfectly decadent and fun.
Homemade pizza dough, topped with a big slather of Nutella, and a whole bunch of marshmallows… melty, gooey, chewy, rich, easy… and delicious.
I think I might even sprinkle chopped strawberries sprinkled on top next time we make it!
Ok, so I started this diet. (Ugh. I hate that word!)
Actually my whole family kind of started a diet. I know, that sounds weird coming from me, but this is a short-term, 28-day diet, and I am super excited about it.
(This pizza was our last big hurrah before we dove in to the 4 week challenge.)
We are in to week 2 now, and are feeling great… I am looking forward to telling you all more about it when we get closer to the end!
In the meantime. I will be spending my free-time scrolling back through the blog drooling over all the fun treats I can’t eat right now. You should try that too (except, maybe actually try one or two!)… there’s a lot of great stuff hiding back there in the archives!
Ingredients
- 1 homemade pizza dough round*
- 1 cup nutella
- 2 cups mini marshmallows
Directions
*My favorite homemade pizza dough recipe makes enough for 3 large pizzas, so make one batch, have 2 pizzas for dinner and this for dessert, like we do!
Preheat the oven, with a baking stone in it, to 500ºF for a full 30 minutes.
Stretch and shape your dough, on a piece of lightly floured parchment paper, into a large circle or oval the size of your pizza stone.
Drizzle with a small bit of olive oil or melted coconut oil and bake for 5 minutes. Remove from the oven, (slide the whole parchment back onto a cutting board or pizza board), and dollop with the Nutella.
Let it sit for a few minutes to melt a bit and then spread evenly all over the crust.
Sprinkle evenly with the mini marshmallows and return the whole thing to the oven to bake for another 5 minutes or so (on the pizza stone), until the marshmallows are nicely puffed and golden brown.
**This pizza cuts easiest right away when you take it out of the oven, but I think it actually tastes best when it's almost room temperature, so cut it immediately and then let it sit for a bit while you finish your pizza dinner!
